Salt Lake City has one of the most resilient LGBTQ+ communities in the Mountain West. It also has a way of feeling closed from the outside. If you have just moved to Utah, recently come out, or simply spent a few years drifting from the people you used to see every week, the scene can look like a set of rooms you have not been invited into yet.
Dating apps do not fix that. Their "friends" modes leave the intention blurry, and you end up explaining that you are not looking for anything romantic before you get anywhere near a real conversation. Meanwhile the friends you have are getting married, having kids, moving to the suburbs — and the invites quietly stop coming.

Queer-owned Lebanese food in Central Ninth. Shared plates do a lot of the social work for you, which makes it a strong pick for a first group meet-up.

The most walkable queer-comfortable stretch in the city — independent shops, galleries and small restaurants, and the "Out of the Blue" whale sculpture as an easy meeting landmark.

The largest queer gathering in the state, and the easiest weekend of the year to meet fifty people at once. Going with two or three Clicked connections beats going alone.

I started Clicked Connections because I was looking for something that didn't exist: a space for connection that wasn't defined by endless swiping or superficiality. Our lives are constantly reshuffling. Someone gets married, someone moves away, or your own interests evolve — and suddenly the alignment shifts.
Having good friends doesn't mean you're "done" meeting new people. Expansion is not replacement. There are "our people" we simply haven't met yet. Salt Lake City has plenty of them.
